1. In a helpmate a piece of any color moves to a square left by another piece.
2. A piece moves to a square left by a piece of the opposite color, which loses control of that square.
A piece moves to a square vacated by a piece of the opposite color that maintains control of that square.
A piece mates on a square left by a piece of the opposite color.
A move to a square that was abandoned at least two moves earlier by a piece of the opposite color.

1. There are two thematic pieces and four phases in which one piece is beaten and the other mates.
2. There are four thematic pieces. In one phase the first piece is captured and the second one mates. In the second phase is the opposite. In the third phase, the third piece is captured and the fourth one mates. In the fourth phase the fourth unit is captured and the third one mates.
The white piece that mates in the first phase is captured in the next. The white piece that mates in the last phase is captured in the first.
In one phase, the white mating unit and the other, which is involved in mating, are captured in the second phase, and vice versa.
